Meet Donna Reid Washington, MHS, LPC
A native of Washington, DC. Donna has over 20+ years of experience. She received her masters degree from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, she is licensed in the District of Columbia as a professional counselor.
Many years of experience have shown me that an eclectic approach to therapy is the most beneficial. We, humans, possess various doctrines, methods
and styles and no one style of therapy can be successfully applied to an individual person.
The core of my approach is person-centered which allows me to offer you a relationship where I learn to see the way you see your problems,
your feelings, your hopes and fears. This approach is based on Carl Rogers’ theory of Personality in his opinion: “the core of man’s (women’s) nature is
essentially positive” and he (she) is a “trustworthy organism”. These beliefs reflect the way I see people and are the catalyst for determining Therapeutic
strategies.
- Impulse Control Disorders
I treat children, adolescents and adults
I use a client-centered therapy approach to treat a wide range of conditions including:
